Lowell Green Restaurant Program

Creating a more sustainable Lowell, one restaurant at a time

About Us February 1, 2013

about usThe Lowell Green Restaurant Program (LGRP) is a non-biased, third-party certification program that identifies,  certifies, supports and promotes green, sustainable restaurants in the City of Lowell, MA. This program was originally made possible by a partnership between the City of Lowell, Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Merrimack Valley Small Business Center, and the Lowell Green Restaurant Program Board of Directors. Now in it’s third year, the LGRP has entered into a partnership with the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts (SBN) to boost our efforts and build a strong network of certfied green restaurants who are engaging in sustainable business practices.

The LGRP is comprised of a Board of Directors that meets monthly to discuss the needs of the existing and new green restaurants, create outreach and education opportunities, and search for business development opportunities. LGRP’s Board members represent a wide variety of dedicated volunteers with expertise in environmental, social and economic issues and a passion for sustainability.
